On January 27th, Feeding Villages once again visited the community of Nangunga in Uganda and sponsored a food assistance distribution event! SO, WHAT DID WE ACCOMPLISH? We were able to distribute 100 kgs of rice, 50 kgs of beans, and 50 kgs of peanuts to over 50 families as part of our food assistance initiative! We gained commitment from village leaders and the village health team to combat food and nutrition challenges utilizing a community centered approach with a direct focus on sustainable initiatives. Future ideas include demo gardens, nutritional education for children/families, and more! We conducted structured interviews with a variety of members of the community to better understand the needs, interests, and backgrounds…
